Hi,

For last couple days I've been going through a minor computer issue. I wasn't doing anything special, I just turned the computer off. And the next day the problem occured; After bios and Windows 8 loading screen ( the little dots going round, just below the windows 8 icon ) my screen goes black and there's no signal to the display. I've already tried formatting my hdd and installing windows 8, also tried doing Reset option, from the Windows 8 troubleshot system. I can't access my Safe Mode, because it tells that Windows can't finish the installation in safe mode ( After installing the new system I format all the data and it goes just fine until the windows icon and "Preparin your devices" sign. It goes 100% and gets black again.

What power supply have you got and how old is it? Can you boot into safemode?

Its Cheftec GPS - 500 AB 484W Max and it's pretty much old, lets say 6 years. I can't boot into the safe mode, because Windows says that the installation cannot be continued in the safe mode.

Hmm, your problem might be that your old and relatively low end PSU is giving out and your PC is power hungry, hence the black screen. Is there any other one around you can try? Note that replacing a PSU is a tedious and potentially risky thing to do. If you haven't done it before tell me so we can explore other options.

Don't have any around, Im going for a new build anyways, im going to start from buying Intel's 180GB SSD and maybe the PSU, do you think that I can plug in to my old comp a new Corsair GS700? Is there anything like that it would be TOO powerful?

No such thing as too powerful for PSUs :) just make sure it has all the connectors you need, and you can't go wrong with anythong Corsair!

I've just changed my PSU to Corsair GS 700 and hard drive to Intel's ssd 180GB, installed the OS, and still... the same problem. Damn, that's annoying. Anybody has an idea of solution?

try unplugging all usb devices, especially webcam and external drives including flashdrives.

As long as the HDD light is flashing, the system is busy, you must wait..
