    Display driver stopped responding

    Original error message:
"Display driver NVIDIA Kernel Mode Driver, Version 314.22 stopped responding and has succesfully recovered"

I'm getting this error again and again, mainly in games. (Which seems logic, they use the graphics card most)
Games without DX11 will continue after a black screen has occured, but at very low FPS.
Games with DX11 will just crash and stop working after the same black screen.

I've seached the web to find any clue to this problem and the only thing I found out, is that lots of people are suffering the same problem, but I found no solution that work to some extend.

I'm desperate now and I hope that same professionals could help me here.

I am using the same drivers and have no problem with it. May I ask How did you install the drivers ? Did you install it with Kasperski Antivirus 2013 turn off ? Sometimes you need to do a clean install in Safe Mode. But in the mean time, Try using your PC with Kasperski Antivirus 2013 turned off to see if it still causes problem.

Well, as it PC is rather new (4 month old) the first driver I installed was the one on the software CD coming with my graphics card.
When I realized that it was not the newst version I uninstalled it via Control Panel - Programs & Features and manually downloaded and installed version 314.22. Btw, with the older driver I had the same problem thats why I looked the new one up.

Turning Kasperski Antivirus off didn't help at all.

I just upgraded to these drivers (after an embarrassing moment where I thought something was wrong when it came out in old style 3D when I started Skyrim) I'd recommend a clean install also if you haven't already. You just click into custom and tick the box that says 'clean install'- which prevents old drivers from being the issue. These particular drivers seem to be getting a lot of heat at the official forums- I didn't have a choice, I had a blonde moment and accidently let my PC update to the OEM's altered version. (Which is good for pre-built laptops but not desktops). So far, I haven't had any issues aside from the ugly shadows in Skyrim being more blatant and an odd fire thing (although it's only weird outlines and dots almost unperceivable and looking it up doesn't hold a candle to real fire issues) I'm hoping the next driver is more friendly to Skyrim, all other games seem to work just fine as they always have.

What was your last NVidia driver?

Well I did a clean install, and that did not help to improve the situation.
I even manually overrode the nvlddmkm.sys in C:/Windows/system32/drivers with the actual nvlddmkm.sy_ file (after expanding it) from the NVidia folder which often seems to be the problem but that didn't help either.

The driver I had before 314.22 was 306.97 which came along on the software CD of the graphics card.

Btw, I had a Blue Screen few days ago, PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.
Don't know if this has anything to do with the ohter error, but I ran am Memtest that was OK no problems there.
