    Vista to 8: My Video Driver is out of date!

    I upgraded my Desktop which uses Vista to Windows 8. I tried opening a video the other day but my Video card driver is out of date. What should I do.

    Go to the manufacturer site and get the latest drivers for it.

    What is your video card?

    ~update~

    Some old on-board chips arent officially supported by Windows 8, what requires a manual install in compatibility mode.

    My Video card is a ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro. If this doesn't sound right, just tell me.

    You can download HWinfo32 portable to confirm your chipset:
    HWiNFO32 Download
    Just unzip it and run it. see screenshot below:

    Click image for larger version

    However, if it is the G33, I see no drivers listed for Win 8, so you may want to try the Win 7 drivers and install them in the compatibility mode (as previously recommended by vrosa);

    Good luck.

    According to the specs here, driver update are not provided beyond Windows Vista:
    ATI Radeon
    Again, try vrosa's suggestion.

    More information about the PC would be helpful. Is the card PCI, AGP, or PCI-Express?

    The 2400 is an old card, and no longer included in the monthly Catalyst releases, but there are Win8 drivers:

    AMD Catalyst

    (These are 64 bit; there are also 32 bit. You didn't specify which version of Win8 you're using.)
