Solved nVidia Installer Issue

Hello Eight Forums,

Last week I finished building a computer, generally for gaming. I purchased a nVidia Geforce GTX 660, and I'm running the 306.97 driver. While attempting to upgrade to the newer 310.90 driver, I came across an an error message: NVIDIA Installer cannot continue: A system restart is required. Restart the system and try again. Having come from a rather old and outdated ATI Radeon 9250, I have had no previous experience with a nVidia card, so naturally I restarted my computer and tried again. However, the message persisted. No matter how many times I restarted the computer, it would give me the same message.

Furthermore, I can't install or uninstall the drivers, and I can't install any nVidia product that uses the nVidia installer.

I have absolutely no idea how to fix the problem. I've probably searched for an answer a thousand times and then some, and nothing I've seen has worked for me. I don't think I've done anything wrong. Perchance someone here would be able to help me out?

Corsair XMS3 4GB(x2) RAM
nVidia Geforce GTX 660
1TB HDD

Solved the problem myself, and it came rather accidentally.

I was doing a registry sweep with CCleaner, and I found an odd entry that said something like NVIDIA_RebootNeeded_(something).
Anyway, after fixing the issues, I had a hunch and tried uninstalling the drivers again. Sure enough, it didn't ask me to restart my computer.
