Hi,

Issue: Since upgrading my Windows 7 laptop to Windows 8 (64bit) it has lost functionality for both gaming and HDMI output.

My Setup: HP Pavilion Dv6 - 3050sa
BIOS: Default System BIOS
Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II N620 Dual-Core Processor (2 CPUs), ~2.8GHz
Card name: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4200 Series (Microsoft Corporation - WDDM v1.1)
DriverName:aticfx64.dll,aticfx64.dll,aticfx32,aticfx32,atiumd64.dll,atidxx64.dll,atiumdag,atidxx32,atiumdva,atiumd6a.cap,atitmm64.dll
Driver File Version: 9.18.0010.1129 (English)
Driver Version: 8.97.10.6

HDMI Output: HELP! I've no idea where to start.
Problem: Connecting my laptop to my HDTV via a HDMI cable, all of which worked previously on windows 7 yeilds strange/no results.

Steps:
1. Turn Laptop & TV on
2. Connect HDMI from TV to laptop
3. Right click desktop, Screen resolution
4. Press Detect.
Notice: 'Another Display Not Detected'
5. Hold Windows key press 'P'
6. Select Duplicate Displays
Notice: Resolution Changes yet not output to second monitor/TV
7. Right click desktop, Screen resolution
8. Press Detect.
Notice: The pressing of Detect has done nothing. 'Display' is now set to 1|2 multiple monitors.

I'm really stuck here so any help is appreciated!

(Solved) Gaming: Whilst attempting to play games the laptop would chug along and an incredibly slow speed, slow refreshing rates and long loading times - Making FTL almost unplayable!

After a quick search of the internet I was directed to the following website:

AMD Graphics Drivers & Software

This proved extremely helpful linking me to the page that included the download that updated my display drivers.

(AMD Catalyst)

Thanks,
