    Alienware M14x R2 intergrated graphic.

    I'm currently trying to make super street fighter 4 AE to use my main graphic card which is the Nvidia 650m, but it keeps using the intel hd 4000 integrated card instead, when i first played this game on Win7 it used my main, i would get over 100FPS with the same setting. I already tried going to the alienware command prompt to use high performance, i already tried to go to desktop>nvidia control panel>manage 3d setting>change preferred graphics processor>to High Performance Nvidia GPU, but it didn't work. When i played Black ops 2, it changes to the main graphic card. Only in this game i have problem, and it's recognizing my OS has window 7 home vista when i have windows 8. any help here's a picture. I get a average of 50 FPS but, it lags a lot when i play online

    1. Desktop != Laptop
    2. Sometimes dGPU is used but iGPU name is reported, atleast that's what I've heard, the switching can be kind of buggy.
    3. Google what scores others are getting with a GT550m/your complete laptop, if they're in line with what you got, see 2.
    4. If you're still not happy that you're almost hitting vsync then do upgrade your drivers/bios (at your own risk), look for tweaks you can possibly do to optimus or the game itself.
    5. ???
    6. Profit

    7. Your laptop may support disabling optimus in the BIOS and therefore run in the dGPU 100% of the time, 100%fixing your possible problem.
    8. Update the game

    It can't be my GT550M that is running slow, because i've seen people bench mark the graphic card on Battlefield 3! When it first used my actual graphic card i was getting around 120 FPS on the game. Game is already updated lol, and the dGPU only runs on certain games like this one, actually only this one...

    I wish I had an answer for you but sadly I don't. I just know that there is some apparent pattern with laptops running these dual GPU's. It doesn't seem to matter what vendor and make or model, the key factor it the dual GPU and the switchable software that each company uses. Try contacting your laptops maker directly and see if that can't sort it for you.

    This seems to be normal behavior. The 4000 chip is quite capable and if it suffices, the PC does not switch to the GPU. Many people seem to use only the 4000 chip and opt out on the 650M GPU (which is not a barnstormer anyhow).
