As it's an XP driver, and Windows 8 doesn't support XP drivers (unlike Win7), no idea.

    Again:

Graphics — Older Intel® graphics controllers and Microsoft Windows 7* operating system

    That's actually for Windows 7.

The Windows 8 FAQ is here:

Graphics — Microsoft Windows 8* support FAQ

but it doesn't mention chipsets as old as the 915GM.

In short: Win8 requires WDDM drivers. There are no WDDM drivers for the 915GM. Win7 permitted the use of XDDM drivers (without Aero Glass support) for the 915GM.

Your choices: live with the Win8 generic VGA drivers, revert to an OS that can use existing drivers, or replace the laptop.

Sorry that I can't be more encouraging.

This gets asked somewhat regularly around here, and the answer is the same - 915G/GM chipsets can run Windows 8, but only with the basic display driver.

Cannot Set Correct Aspect Ratio / Resolution

Ultimately, to get good video performance from Windows 8, you will need something newer than model year 2004 hardware with model year 2001 drivers .

How can I run Video under Basic Display Driver?

I taught that there could be a solution by modifying the current drivers.

I am running it on Basic Display Driver but the main problem is running a video clip/movie which it could be possible on slow motion and with lag, atleast any idea how can I solve this???

No, the Microsoft basic display adapter (which is what your video chip is using) isn't suited for any kind of full motion video, acceleration, or basically anything broader than using basic tools and maybe web browsing, if that doesn't include flash or any other video. It's the fact that the video hardware doesn't support some of the things that WDDM requires that there's not a driver for it (there's not even a Vista driver). The video subsystem in Win7 and older had support for the older XP driver model (XPDM), but that old code has been removed from Win8, so you'll have to upgrade your video hardware to get decent performance. If you're on a mobile device without the ability to upgrade/replace it, you'll have to stick with Windows 7 until you can get better hardware.
