hi i have the hp mini 1140sa and i installed windows 8 and everything was ok but as soon as i restarted it it went to a black screen with just my mouse pointer i can still go on task manager and open control panel from it i looked online and it said it was something to do with the graphic driver so i disabled it and uninstalled it and it worked for the first time then when i restarted it it happened again even on standard Microsoft driver so i reinstalled it around 3 times but it keeps doing the same even if i install the latest intel driver and if i don't so i just installed windows 7 again but i want windows 8 can someone help please my laptop is

Intel atom n270 32 bit
um not sure i just used driver genius and that installed the driver but when i upgraded it already had the drivers on it and then it did the same thing went black when i restarted it and when i reinstalled it i downloaded the driver of driver genius and it did the same and then i reinstalled it and didnt install the driver it was on windows own dirver simple driver and it still did the same if that helps so ive tried uninstall it and installing it and disabling it but it does the same every time :/
I take it Driver Genius is an online driver support site. I'm not one to use these and don't believe much in using 3rd party programs to fix an OS and/or maintaining them. I just think MS supplies enough tools to do so. Consider me a "purist".
Can you get to device manager to update driver using "search for" options? Or look for the proper driver on HP site? Use the compatibility mode if not an 8 driver?
