Hello,
I am very frustrated right now.
I upgraded from Win7 and after the upgrade I noticed that I cannot run ANY video or game. The computer immediatly black screens and my fans start to panic. I have to power down to reset.

I clean installed after that, thinking it was a driver issue from the previous windows 7 installation but I am still facing the same problem.

I have installed the newest nvidia drivers, and they were cleanly installed.
I am running a q6600, nvidia 560ti, 4GB ram, 650 Watt PSU, 4 hard disks.
This was not an issue at all in Windows 7.
Please help, I am desperate and do not want to roll back to windows 7 as I have paid for this OS.
Thank you!

I should also note that I cannot simply remove the GPU and run it on VGA as I have no VGA on this motherboard. Also, there are no triangles in the Device manager on any device.

I have only problems with my other PC with Windows 8 and a GTX 560 , the games was not crashing but the Nvidia Kernel was, even just using the desktop, I try many drivers versions without success, I fix the problem with a AMD GPU.

This is crazyness, I rolled back to windows 7 and now it crashes with the newest GPU drivers. I ran a video after installing Win7 with just a VGA driver and the video ran.

I am going to try old drivers and see if it works. Otherwise, while upgrading Win8 I had a hardware failure. Out of interest, how much power do Disk Drives use and CDroms?

If i want to start unplugging things to see if my PSU is taxed where should I begin?
THanks.

I unplugged a DVDrom which doesn't really work anymore (and was IDE) and a couple of fans and it works now. I wonder if my PSU is starting to go because this is the first time this has popped up.

Should I get servicing on the unit?

Try the latest beta drivers for 8 from Nvidia.
