IE cache files

I do not use Internet explorer ever but when I run Ccleaner there is always 43,888 kb of temporary IE files cleaned. Once deleted they are recreated within seconds.
Does anyone have a method of disabling this behaviour please ?

..just uncheck all the things for IE listed in CCleaner options and it'll leave it alone <g>

Actually just checking mine on Win8 with CC After I had run it to clean, and after a few minutes (you said it does it within seconds!) ..so I checked after a few minutes of non-IE use, and there's nothing else in IE to delete, as shown in my screenshot:

(Edit: I just noticed after posting, my screenshot shows it's on the TIF ..my fingers had slipped down one at that moment, but I had actually first did it on the first main listing of Internet Explorer, and it still had 0 results and is my suggestion, unless you want to fine tune it down in detail)

Sure though if I use IE to go somewhere, then that is when IE files start getting created, and they all show up in CC..

..and so either you're using a different version of CCleaner than me if it matters, or have different IE settings with something active, etc, etc..

At any rate, considering all things involved, I think what you describe as happening is perfectly normal anyway and has no meaning of value of consequence, and are just explanations of default IE vrs CC behavior with IE putting back what CC removed.

Instead of the screenshot you show it would of been better/more accurate to show exactly what files are actually getting deleted, by when you put CC on its tab (as I show) of CCleaner> Applications> Internet Explorer, and toggle either selections of Analyze and/or Clean of just IE and the results window will show exactly what specific files were deleted for IE..

Well the files are located at C:\Users\David\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\WebCache

I have the same ccleaner as you 5.40.6411 and after cleaning a moment ago they are immediately returned without my using a browser or any programme.

If no other option is found to prevent their appearance I will do as you suggest and just leave them.

..anyway, I have IE11 and also have that same folder as you will all the same files, but CCleaner does not bother/check/list the files it is showing yours is ..perhaps our options checkmarked are different, but as I go though them I don't see any of them via Analyze showing to scan for or list any of those files, well, ..except I see for the V01.log file gets taken if I check options to clear Windows log files, but normally that is unchecked for me; once every six months or major change do I check that one to delete them when I know I won't need to reference them, etc.

My IE has always had add-ons disabled if that matters, and most other things like that on IE are disabled..

I see all these hits on google if you want to search it out yourself, I'll let you do the leg work if you want, but at any rate as said before, my feeling it's all harmless to let it delete it each time.

I think its IE 11 but I have it disabled anyway and use FirefoxESR only.
I found a solution to the problem for Windows 10 but this will not work for 8.1 apparently as it disables explorer.

In Ccleaner the files appear under the applications tab on the blue firefoxy looking icon "Internet" - mystery to me it is.

OK I will do as you suggest and not bother about it, thanks again for your advice.

I've always had IE11, Firefox (stopped @ v67.0.4 though), and a Chrome base browser installed at the same time - they each have value, although I do have IE11 set as my (LoL) default browser ...and who knows what else of our settings that are different.
(As an aside, the issue of Firefox (when on a webpage) not letting us drag or send to Desktop to create a shortcut of the website we're on is exasperating, and the reason I won't go past this version)

Anyway I cannot duplicate that set of files with what you show on your CC results windows no matter what I do <shrug>

I'm guessing it's the variance of all our different versions, and settings, and also guessing the issue/reason is simple/benign, and based on the created anew file sizes it's virgin and not an issue.

..although it is odd/interesting that your CC Applications tab looks different than mine, where mine does not have that listing of Internet: Internet Explorer and Internet Explorer Vault on it at all! ..and a few more things are different.
Are you sure you don't have IE10 or something, or perhaps its your ESR version compared to my standard ..nah that can't be it.
Maybe you installed your Win8.1 with nLite and stripped things?
