Solved Windows 8.1 Recovery - Could not find recovery environment

When I purchased the laptop it was preinstalled with windows 8 and recovery then I format the whole harddisk and install the pirated copy of windows . Now I came to know that original embedded key can be used for original Installation. Do you think that marking the partition 1 as active will solve the windows 10 upgrade problem?

download the windows 10 ISO > Tech Bench

Mount the ISO and then run setup.exe within your current windows 8.1 host OS

I have a problem please.

I have a Windows 8.1 laptop HP. But i upgrade with a clean install to Windows 10. After some time i decide to go back to my FACTORY Windows 8.1 and i had success with the HP recovery tool (F11).
But with my new Windows 8.1 i had too many partitions and i decide to delete the "unnecessary" but it finished accidentally to delete all the partitions (also Windows partiton, system reserved, winre) except the OEM RECOVERY 17gb.
Now i'm on a Windows 8,1 that i have downloaded from a Microsoft, but i want to go back to MY factory Windows 8.1. And when now i'm entering in the recovery there is no HP recovery tool, or when i choose restore system to factory it says; please insert media"

1 Partition and think i need more

Hello Group!

I have a similar problem but with a bit of a twist than the others that have posted here so far. i also am having trouble updating to windows 10 from windows 7 ultimate 32 bit sp1 and after reading thru all the post here have came to the conclusion that i have an incorrectly partitioned hard drive that is preventing the upgrade.

After running DISKPART and finding out that i have only 1 partition on my hard drive (as shown in image), can i use one of the partitioning tools like minitool or AOMEI to resize the current partition and move it over to create the other needed partitions and to put them into the proper order, And if so how many partitions and what sizes would i need to create and what ID's and GPT Attributes would i use for a NON OEM built computer and what would be the correct procedure to do this?

Here is another example of the damaged partition type.

Partition 1 - System (500 MB)
Partition 2 - OEM (40 MB) - Note: This Dell OEM partition type is ok.
Partition 3 - Reserved (128 MB)
Partition 4 - OEM (2048 MB) - This partition type should be Recovery (not OEM).
Partition 5 - Primary (363 GB)
Partition 6 - Primary (556 GB)
Partition 7 - OEM (9 GB) - This partition type should be Recovery (not OEM).

How to fix the error message: "Could not find the recovery environment", if the ID for the recovery partition type is incorrectly set to OEM or Primary.

- You need to manually select the partition and change the partition ID.

- Open a command prompt as administrator and type (or copy and paste) the following commands.

diskpart
select disk 0
list partition

select partition # Note: Select the Windows RE tools partition.
set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac

select partition # Note: Select the 350 MB or 450 MB Windows RE tools partition (if you have this partition).
set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac

select partition # Note: Select the Recovery image partition.
set id=de94bba4-06d1-4d40-a16a-bfd50179d6ac

list partition
exit

   Tip

If you want, you can also run the following command after the each SET ID command.

gpt attributes=0x8000000000000001

what is inside Folder > K:\RecoveryImage

and your OEM recovery is the 900mb volume - the 450mb one configured is an upgraded OS

Hey everybody, I need some help with my pc as well. My problem is very similar to everyone else's, except that I'm kind of a novice at this pc stuff. I want to format my pc using the option "Remove everything and reinstall Windows" but I can't since the recovery enviroment cannot be found. Could someone help me with this?

The only way to replace your OS is to reinstall the OS..
To do a repair install - run setup.exe of the installation media from within your current OS

Taking a look at this above link and reading what you said, I am thinking about reinstalling the Windows 8.1 using the Windows' software download link (this link wasn't being posted at this reply for whatever reason).

After that, I would attempt to follow the steps you just told me (run the setup.exe of the instalation media).
Are these the correct steps? Please, tell me if this is wrong and what I should be doing instead.
If possible, detail this to me step by step so I can follow the instructions. Again, I'm a novice at this and I thank you for your patience in helping me KYHI.

The Installer you require is available here ... 8.1 Download - Microsoft

follow the instructions on that page to create an install media - I recommend a USB stick rather than a DVD as it is faster to install from, but either will do the job
Select the windows version you currently have installed (Home, Pro, 32Bit, 64Bit Etc)
When you are ready use file manager to navigate to the USB stick and find the Setup.exe file

Run this file and when prompted you can either select to upgrade over your existing installation or Install to remove all your programs and files and start fresh

Your system should have a Key for the version of Windows you had installed burned into the motherboard TPM Chip - but I would make a note of any product information on the base or inside the battery storage just in case
