Touchscreen moves cursor away from other monitors

I am using a multi-monitor setup and one of the monitors is a Touch screen monitor. Whenever I press on it, it moves the cursor to that monitor, working as normal. However I would like to make it so it doesn't move the cursor over there when I press there or return the cursor to it's previous position after finishing a touch screen action. Is there a way to do this?
It is a Dell E157FPTe, using EloTouch, and shows up in hardware as a mouse device and not a touch input.
Edit: Just to clarify, the rest of the monitors I'm using are not touch screen monitors. It shows up as a separate mouse device in addition to my regular mouse.

Not likely. The touch screen overlay part is calibrated to that monitor so the cursor moves to exactly where your touching it. The X, Y coordinates.

Only if I calibrate it that way. Otherwise, the cursor can move onto other screens while I'm dragging my finger across the touch screen.

- inputting on the touch screen doesn't drag the cursor all the way to the touch screen (then having to drag it back to the screen it was on before)
- return the cursor to it's previous position after using the touch screen input (which again registers as a mouse not a tablet or touch screen input)

Disable the Touch Screen and use only a mouse. That would be the only way to fix this. Touchscreens are not Multi-monitor friendly.

If it's the touch screen gestures you want to use, get a touch pad. I have a Logitech T650 touchpad. I can two finger scroll, pinch zoom etc and it doesn't steal the focus. The cursor stays on what ever monitor its on when I touch the pad. It only moves if I command it to move my moving my finger on the pad. When I take my hand away the cursor just stays where it was.

A touch screen will move the cursor based on where you touch the screen. It's made to do that and you can't change it. Not that I know of anyway.

I mainly just want to use the touch screen as a secondary monitor, possibly having on-screen macros that I could tap to do various tasks (pause music, open an application, etc.) without moving the main cursor

Does Windows 8 register mouse presses from each device separately? Or is there a way for it to detect instant mouse moves and then move the cursor back after finishing on the touch screen? (it has an option for mouse emulation, holding your finger on the monitor treats it as holding down the left mouse button)

There is only one cursor no matter how many input devices you have. It's going to move to what ever screen gets focus with an input device. Touching your touch screen changes the focus and moves the cursor. It then just stays there. There is no way to make it go back because any tiny movement is a new location, even if it only moved one pixel. I know of no way to do what you propose. If your keyboard has media keys you can use those to pause music etc without moving the cursor. On my Logitech keyboards, with Setpoint I can set certain keys to open programs. Keys can be set to run macros too. I know you want to use the touch screen, just giving you options is all. I don't think there is any way from stopping the cursor from moving when you touch the screen.

Have you tried going into tablet settings? Some people have no issues with multiple Touchscreen monitors. But in your case with the one touchscreen and the others non-touch, you are going to be stuck.

Have you tried Touch Mouse Tools? I think it does exactly what you need - separates the mouse from your touchscreen input. It makes it so that if you touch your touch screen, your mouse resumes from its previous position, instead of from the position on the touchscreen. I've been using it for a while now and it seems to solve the problem for me. Link is here in case you are interested. There are also some pretty useful options for keeping the mouse bounded on the screen and switching screens via a macro.
