yes im aware there is a tenforums for w10 however it seems mostly dead there. i did post a thread there though

so the latest update has caused my machine to open and close windows explorer every second or so. this renders the machine nearly unusable as the loop causes clicks to not be registered or cleared sometimes. i know that this is the update because i did a system restore before the update and it returned to normal. however last night windows decided to update again when i restarted my computer there is no way to disable the updates on preview. -__- i cant restore anymore and am stuck with a nonfuntioning computer because of this "feature". i tried a clean boot with same symptoms as well as another account. i have tracked the issue down to ntdll.dll via event viewer displaying errors causing explorer.exe to crash.

this is the full information from event viewer.

is this thread best suited for a different section on tenforums besides updates and activation. i have tried to roll back all the updates and the problem persist so maybe its not an update issue?

There is a section for BSOD and Crashes, that would probably be the most applicable section.

I would do a "refresh" and see if that helps you. Remember, this is a Beta OS and problems/crashes are expected. And, problems can vary depending on the specific hardware configuration.

I had to do a refresh on mine this past Sunday after some updates. When I rebooted it came up with two logons (both the same) instead of one. I tried to fix it but couldn't. I had even considered a complete reinstall. I don't use Win 10 as a "production" system, just for testing. In fact the main reason I installed it was to check out installation of my recording studio program, Sonar X3, as a user on the Sonar forums reported they couldn't install on their Win 10 installation.

i tried the refresh option and it didnt work. i think it may be related to some graphic drivers i installed that were optional. when i reinstalled them i got a bsod so i had to system restore. i didnt get a bsod with the windows update or when this taskbar issue started though. i was under the assumption that the bsod section was only for bsod and bsod related crashes.

That is the section I would post in with the problem you are having.

But again, this is a preliminary release and there can and will be problems. Win 10 should not be used as a "production system" - just for testing and investigating. If it bombs, you reinstall and start over.
