AMD Catalyst Control Center does not show settings?

Hi, sorry to necro this thread but well it's not too old and I'm having a very related problem! I am getting only hydravision options.
It's weird before this I did auto detect the graphic driver and I got the R7 200x series displaying on my device manager, then I realized that my graphics card was not that simple, it had a specific version which is the ASUS DirectCU II OC Radeon R7 260x.
I did that search on google and was brought to this webpage: ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download R7260X-DC2OC-2GD5

I installed that display uninstaller posted on this thread and I ran it, restarted the PC and installed that new driver because I've been having random BF4 crashes, so I thought that would maybe help... Before I did this change of driver I did have all CCC options, at least what I think was all of them, I was able to change fan speeds. But little research did show that my fan is 1 of the many versions that only had 2 fans. (most of them had 1 fan at least, the 260x's)

Now I'm just stuck here, in my AMD folder i only have a folder called 'amdkmpfd' with many 'amdkmpfd.etc' files 'etc' meaning many file extensions (.cbz, .cez, .csz, etc!)

Before changing drivers I did have many more folders and files in the AMD folder.

I've tried looking up so many ways to fix this and I just don't want to end up in a large hole I can't dig back up, so please help me!

I'd like to mention that I received a BSOD containing the error message: bad_pool_caller

It may be just a driver without proper control center and the oldish one too. Try with AMD's own driver, 14.4 for instance. Make a Restore point before you update.

So since I had those files laying around, I extracted them as said and pointed the update files from Device Manager to the AMD folder which did now have everything.

This is the odd part, the whole AMD CCC has a bit of a new control panel design to it than when i had just that installed before ever having uninstalled. (as in when i had THAT version installed without having installed the one from the ASUS website)

Everything looks to be running fine except for 1 thing.
When I opened up photoshop before installing the version from ASUS, photoshop tells me there's an error with my graphics driver so that I need to update/reinstall my driver. When I installed only the ASUS driver version it didn't give me an error. Now that I updated again I'm getting that error once again.
Should I mention that in Device Manager it shows the name as 'AMD Radeon R7 200 Series' and when I had the ASUS driver version it showed up as something like almost the exact model i.e. 'AMD Radeon R7 260x'.

Sorry to be a pain in the neck. :(

That warning.
I'm having other problems with Battlefield 4. Sometimes ground objects within the playable area will glitch upwards like the meshes will just skyrocket and it disables me from viewing correctly. I also got other problems when I got into a BF4 game right now and green and red pixelish glows would just show up and flash around on 1 part of my screen, I messed around with vidoe settings and it fixed it.... But I'm still having trouble with those ground objects glitching on me. :/

Like the auto settings bf4 shows me? It puts the settings automatically to High. Sorry I think that's what you're asking... Or settings within CCC?

Setting within CCC as you put it. Something like this:
Download AMD Catalys - Forums - Battlelog / Battlefield 4

From the look at all the posts on that thread I think it's just AMD that really sucks. :(
That seems to be a beta driver, do I install that?

Some games are better on some cards, you can see that by what kinds of games they give away with new cards. See if you can find best driver or even better, just the presets for it.

It is a very common problem and can be caused by more thing. I'd like to help those who search this and still have this problem.

First of all, not the newest driver is the best for every card. Go to Download Drivers and give the informations of your system properly. If you have an older video card, you will be told to download an older (most likely 2013ish) version. For me (WIN7/HD4770) it was 13.9 and it installed an ATI Vision Engine instead of the notorius CCC (they pretty much have the same options, seriously!) I've also heard 13.1 is a great stable version for everyone.

Here are all the steps:

1. Download the suggested driver from AMD's website.

2. Run the downloaded exe file. It will unpack the driver components to the C:/AMD/Support/&drivername&/. After unpacking, not install the driver yet.

3. If you already have one video driver installed, uninstall it. Select the option to remove all. You do not have to run a registry cleaner. Furthermore, do NOT run AMD's registry cleaner "removal tool" (available on their website), as it is totally incompatible with Windows 8.1 and will destroy it beyond repair. (No, i'm not exaggerating).

4. Run device manager as an administrator (from the control panel). Select the graphics card, and uninstall the default AMD driver. Make sure you check the box to "delete" the driver as well.

5. Disconnect from the internet. This prevents windows from re-installing the default driver in the next step.

6. Scan for hardware changes in the device manager. This brings your device back, but not the driver. (The 'scan for hardware' button will not be there if you didn't run device manager as an adminstrator).

7. In the device manager, run "Update drivers" on the Graphic card, select manual install from the computer, and browse to the AMD folder (or where you unpacked the driver), and let Windows search for a newer driver there. Windows will find it and finally load it.

8. Install the AMD driver in the normal way (by running from C:/AMD/.../Setup.exe, this will install the catalyst too).

9. Right click on desktop and run Catalyst Control Center / Catalyst Vision Engine to make sure it is working now correctly.

10. Re-connect to internet.
I registered just to thank you Ryuzaki. I had been fighting to get my other options back for days and nothing I had found on the internet worked for me until I came across your solution which finally did work for me! Thank you so much!!
