That is exactly the point
More than often we see threads from several years old that still get replies from people every now and then because the original suggested fix also worked for them.

An example of that is this thread on our sister forum VistaForums. Whilst the OP reported his issue resolved late 2008 people kept commenting through the years that the suggested fix by user Hansfragger also worked for them. If we had deleted the thread people wouldn't have been able to see the fix and would have kept their issue.
