Show us your SSD performance

Very good points. It is really pretty useless. How often do disks fail these days. I had 1 out of over 20 disks fail in the last 7 years - and that was an external disk.

I personally am not a fan of Raid setups. They just complicate your life. And although they produce nice measurements, in real life there is little difference because the access time is the same.
very interesting. Yes they will give you better benchmarks but nothing you would notice in real life.

I just got off the phone with Samsung's Tech Support and asked them whether to keep my 1 TB two Evos in Rapid mode on one and use the 2nd for storage or combine them both as a RAID 0 setup and he said that RAID is not recommended for SSDs and that my setup with RAPID mode would give super high performance + more space which is true according to my tests

Not good enough to hit your record, but I'm good with it!

Good speeds for a single drive, can't remember what mine ran before I put them in RAID and too much hassle to break and run single for a test lol.

If you guys are using these SSDs for the OS, you should focus on the access time - not on the R/W speed. With HD Tune you get the access time. Anything 0.1ms or less is good.

Off topic a bit:

When you buy a SSD does it come with cloning tools to port/clone your OS partition and align it properly or are you on your own?

Access time look OK. You have to focus on the 4KB nums because that's the filesize the system uses most.

Some do come with a software, but the reports are that these programs do not work - or maybe the users did not understand how to use it. The best tool I know is the Paragon Migration Tool. And here are instructions on how to make the migration without any additional tools:

@Maverick
ATTO results are misleading (results are much higher than should be). In your case 4x higher than crystal disk mark and Samsung Magician.
It is difficult to say what to expect from Windows running from bootcamp, but for Samsung Evo your SSD is underperforming.

If I would believe these ATTO data:
View attachment 35322

..my SATA 6GB/s would be faster than PCIe. Not possible.
I would stick with CrystalDiskMark

Reran the test in my new MP 5.1 (2012) see specs:

CrystalDiskMark x64 - 840 EVO 500GB DUO-X2 J2 SATA-III RAPID (OSX BootCamp 5).JPG

The readtimes for the seg. puzzles me!
