Mate, has it even been released yet? If you're using the preview, just wait for the official release. If not, well shoot, I'm not sure..
Using preview myself and it doesn't allow right-click at that location.

Make sure it is removed from the computer or moved from its previous location. Then a cheap way of going about it is loading other images and cycling through until you arrive back at the one you want, and the old image will no longer appear (yet the newer ones will). However, if you only want a single image...

... no clue

In additional the DustSailor's recoomendation, you could also create a "blank white bitmap" and cycle it through as well. Other than his suggested method, I can see no other way of doing it at this time and I have done quite a bit of research on this issue as well. So, I am left scratching my head and saying "where the heck are those other dang pictures hiding?" With that said, I will also second DustSailor's motion that....

..... I also have no clue.

However, I know for a fact that a few capable individuals are trying to unravel this mystery so I'm hoping for a cameo announcement soon. Good luck.

Thank you for replying!
I removed the Img from my computer and restart but it does not work
Create a blank white bitmap seems not a good idea
Hope for another solution.

Hi effygy,

Can't disagree with you on that; however, for those who are "compelled" to remove an image for one reason or another, it works (for aesthetic purposes):

@my2cents
looks nice, but do you have a way to remove it?

Nope... Just have to recycle another picture thru as originally suggested by DustSailor. I'm still researching this issue myself but I'm hoping one of the big guns will find an answer if I cannot.... and my hopes of finding an answer to this one appear to be "slim to none."

Again,

Welcome to Windows Eight Forums, Genie. :)

Thanks for posting, but I have no AppData folder in my profile as you can see the snip below. Search of the C: drive and “This PC” return nothing. I think this is because I sign into my PC with a Live account and it is stored in my SkyDrive. Not sure, though.

AppData is system solder and it is hidden. You either go to folder options and check the option to view hidden folders or just open My Computer and paste the link (C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures) in the address bar. Be sure to replace Username with your user account name, like C:\Users\Genie\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\AccountPictures.

By deleting the images in this way, you will be able to get rid of all account pictures except the current one.

I went to the My Computer area - where you can access all your different folders (documents, photos, downloads, recent places, etc..). I clicked on "This PC" then in the search box above top right I put in "Account Pictures." It took awhile to search, when it was complete I could clearly see the date on the file for the photos I wanted to remove. I clicked there - then the pictures opened up. Right click - then delete and all gone!
It really would have made so much more sense if we could have had the option right on the account screen to delete unwanted pics!

Wow. This thread brings me back to when I was using preview, and beginning to fall in love with 8.

If you think about it, most people do not sit and stare at accounts settings. The pictures are there just to make it easier to switch back to a previous photo quickly. Perhaps the thinking is, 'just switch to the photo you want, close out, and continue on...'
