Hi all,I have a problem with hard drive. My old hdd seems to be crashed and windows couldnot not be loaded. So i bought a new one amd installed windows 8 in it. Now, i attached the old hdd as a secondary drive. But after doing so my windows would not load properly, it would take hours to load. I downloaded a few data recovery bootable cd, which runs fine without the old hdd. But when i attached the old one, even they would not run. I have failed to recover my data from the old hard disk. Plz help me so that i can recover my important datas from my old hdd. Thanks in advane.

You may want to put that drive in an external enclosure and connect it via USB. Wait until windows is fully up and running before you plug it in. It sounds like the drive electronics have failed so doing this may not even work. If the onboard controller has failed data recovery is pretty well impossible though the use of recovery software.

Thanks u alphanumeric

I will try that but presently I don't have a usb adaptor. A few data recovery boot cd tool like Mini tool power data recovery shows that my files are still exist but I cant recover them as the software is a demo version and I don't want to pay for it..too costly! Any other suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks again.
