I've been setting up my OEM edition of 8 Pro these past two days. With the Start Screen I can be a minimalist with the desktop. I let Bing change my desktop background daily as I did in 7. One can use the "bing" on the left of the Bing bar to open IE, so no need for IE icon. WinKey/E for File Explorer. Don't need no stinkin' icons cluttering up my daily picture!
