New Company, New Operating System
Imagine if we pooled all the talents and time and energy that have gone into all the posts on this forum. And collectively formed a new company with shares to all the members according to their financial input.
And put all out differences aside, and focused all the latent talent and energy wasted on disagreements and arguing, into a single minded dedicated purpose to build a brand new operating system from the ground up.
Personnel would include:
CEO: SIW2
Marketing Manager: Cokey Robot (due to all his enthusiasm)
Software :
Hippsie Gypsie
Production: pparks1
Public Relations : I
ehnerus 2000
etc, etc?
Suggestions please.
Heck, Microsoft, Apple and Google would all be out of business in no time!

Good on ya Cokey. I was relying on you! At least one person knows how to kick back and enjoy themself instead of oh so serious all the time.
Thought I might nominate Mystere for Public Relations but felt he might be a bit too passive and shy! lol!

Hey A Guy, it's about time! Heck, if you hadn't posted I would have felt discriminated against! LOL! And "Comic Relief" ... good call
For Graphics, I had thought of nominating one of the 7 dwarfs from Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs. He was responsible for the graphics in W8 ... namely
Dopey ! But thought I might get into trouble from the new board of directors!
Cheers M.

Now for the $64 qustions and a free hit:
1. What would you name the new Company and Operating System?
2. In the light of all the discussion that's gone on in Win8 Forums over the past year, how would you build the Operating System from the ground up? No limitations.
One OS for all platforms including Enterprise, OEM installers, Desktop, Laptop, Tablet, Smartfone, etc?
Primary control orientation to mouse, keyboard, touch?
Folder menu orientation to text/drop down menus, ribbon?
Start Menu orientation as tiles, alpha numeric, cascaded, whatever?
Whatever you feel should be left out, added or amended to W8?
Try to look at it from all perspectives of design, production, marketing, distribution, competition, etc.
No holds barred. Go for it and enjoy!

I'll take the graphic design department. I think anyone could do better than the kiddie-blocks they're using for icons these days!
