The article is brief, but it shows 2 out of 4 new screenshots of the build 7989, a Milestone 3 copy built in April. BetaArchives members seem to be both trying to get and leak this built, while also discussing whether this is actually real or not. The topic can be found here. I hope the thread title is not misleading, so let me just state that, as far as I know, build 7989 is not an official beta, or any other "officially" released build, for that matter.

So was the link posted earlier the one with the proper iso?

I am not sure, I am still downloading it, but just check the hash of the .iso and cross reference that with link I posted and you will know immediately.

My first d/l had the 'Broken iso hash' so d/l the file from the same site you linked and it continues the previous d/l at 99.7% and adds the needed files to the original and completed for me in 2-3 minutes, will depend on your d/l speed.

Then got the 'Proper iso hashes', simple procedure.

Have read that it needs the pill, but the last version doesn't enable everything in this build.
There was a mention of a new version of the pill for 7989 might be available, don't know when.


Is anyone using VirtualBox?
Any issues?

Can any one point me to some help getting my internet connection working?
First time using VB and Win8.

after install i was stuck on the welcome screen .nice fish and dot circle rotating.but nothing else after a hard shutdown ,twice i get . not installed successfully and its now resetting the changes made .anyone else having trouble?

i think i cocked up i did an upgrade install x64 on top of a x86 so im doing a custom install and we see how that goes.

It may be my imagination, but 7955 seemed more stable than 7989. I also think the leaked Win7 builds were more stable than the few Win8 leaks, but this may be by design.

Dual boot or VB?

Either way, try deleting the partition you tried to install on, then point the installer to the unallocated space.

I got it installed in VB yesterday without a hitch and today I just got it to activate.

in a last ditch attempt i formatted the partition that 7955 was on an reinstalled . no joy it still hangs on the welcome screen and after two reboots it rolls back the changes made ,totally puzzled by this .any ideas anyone?

I had no trouble installing on my system, after I remembered its quirk of not liking my external USB HDD being online whilst trying to install.

Some files for TaskUI. The other files here aren't needed, according to the author, if you get the one above.

Haven't tried them yet. Will update later.

There is a 1207 RedPill version that just showed up.

And a hint of an edition with a new functionnality that might arrive in 2-3Hours.


1207 is making Explorer hang a bit, it recovers in +15 sec but, it is annoying.
Still checking other features.

Installs great and everything seems to be fine apart from dwm. No matter what I do I can't seem to get aero running. Anyone with similar issue? Or advice?

Sorry, no idea on that one. It seems to work when using the graphics driver that comes with Windows 8, but when upgrading the driver to the latest provided by the card manufacturer (in my case, NVidia), it no longer works.

I've had no problems with explorer in any version of RP Enabler so far!

But pdf Reader is still dead by me!

In your bittorent program re-check the torrent and see if it has the right hash.
