Microsoft close to naming Windows 8 build 9200.as final RTM copy

This time around another leak has floated around the web courtesy Win8China,who supposedly got hold of the screenshots of the Final Build of Windows 8 RTM which is said to be the build 9200.16384.WIN8_RTM.120725-1247.They also got a glimpse of the Lock Screen of Windows 8 RTM.

Though the earlier rumors indicated a version number of 8888 but it seems that due to Microsoft’s complex rules for selecting the version numbers.According to TheVerge who also seconds this story reports that the final versions compile process started on Wednesday outputting SKU, language, and install variations.

The Windows 8 RTM release is expected anytime in the next week, while the final public version has been confirmed earlier this month by Microsoft which will hit the stores on the 26th of October..

As passionate as you are about MS software, I cannot for the life of me believe that you don't already have a few Technet accounts.

I was listing to today's Windows Weekly podcast by Leo Leporte with Paul Thurrott and Mary Jo Foley. And Mary Jo said she has heard that Windows 8 RTM will be released to TechNet and MSDN on Aug 1.

I like this news.

Microsoft's not helping me like Win8 with its absolutely horrible looking interface. Metro is probably the only thing I'm decently fine with.

Wow! What it is to have a comfortable budget! For private reasons, I have needed Technet pro account for some years. But even now, I do notice the outgoing cash from my bank account at renewal time!!
Even more certain, having paid for it, I certainly get some use out of it and I doubt, even at my age, there would never come a time when I was not aware if I had a current account or not - lol

So, clicking "sign in" logged me into TechNet through Windows Live, but it looks like I need to set up a TechNet profile. I guess I need that, too, if I want any keys with the downloads, right?

I'd love to get my hands on the final RTM build of 8, no matter which one it is (the number, I mean) :D

How's that for MS. Their biggest Windows 8 metro fans ,"customers" are only willing to use it if it is FREE! Hahahaahh...

At least those of us BEGGING for the Default direct boot to desktop mode are willing to pay for our Windows software.
