Win8Pro vs Win8EnterpriseN

So, back when these two leaked alongside each other, I opted for the EnterpriseN version because honestly I couldn't be bothered jumping through the hoops with a serial number. But now I'm wondering what the main differences between them are (I know on EnterpriseN you can't change the display stuff like start screen background color), and if perhaps I'm doing myself a disservice by testing Win8 via the EnterpriseN version?

EntN doesn't have media stuff ( you can add it in ) , but it does have the windows to go creator.

I don't see you are missing anything trying Ent version.

Windows Enterprise should also allow you to install display language packs too. -- Unfortunately the full range that W7 has aren't yet available in W8 --this so far is a Mega show stopper for some of my users.

Office 2010 language packs work so no problems there --I don't intend uising Office 2012 unless I really have to.

May I ask why you chose Enterprise N over Enterprise ? Enterprise is better than N.

Anyway, you are not missing on ANY functionality compared to Pro, you are actually gaining functionality.

Please do note that even with the Windows Media Center add-in, you will still be unable to play DVD's in Windows MEDIA PLAYER due to lengthy licensing issues Microsoft have with Dolby and MPEG-2 so you will have to play your DVD's in Media CENTER instead, which at this point means you can as well get something like PowerDVD and use that for DVD playback and not bother with WMC.

At the time I didn't know there was a difference beteen Enterprise and Enterprise_N. I chose Ent_N so that I didn't have to worry about registering it with a product code. I beleive there was some hubbub about each product code being traceable when they first leaked, or something like that.

I seemed to get both Windows Media Player and Windows Media Center as standard in my Enterprise_N iso, at least I don't remember downloading an add-in or an app from the Windows Store. I don't really play DVDs through my PC (PS3 or Xbox360 instead), but if I did I would probably use Media Player Classic (if that is possible), as that's been my media player since about 2002 if I recall correctly.

You still have to register it with a product code but unlike Pro you don't enter it during installation you can enter it when you are done the install.
