Complete tested version of Windows 8.

I am a student and I own MSDN account. I found Windows 8 release date is October 26, 2012 but my account does not state that 'Windows 8 Professional' available there is 'Release Candidate' or something like this.

Is windows version available at MSDN a full tested version? Should I upgrade my Windows 7 to Windows 8 or should I wait till October 26?

    Thanks in advance.

You can test Windows 8 at a virtual machine or a dual boot. Its worth to try it now if you haven't but I will not use it as my only operating system.

    Win 8 release canadate

I've been using the release preview and used the previous beta as my only machine for some time now.
("Retired", with a back up, and very little actual work going on.)

The previous release gave me a few problems but the release preview has been flawless.

It's been tested, but no software much past past "Hello World" has ever been fully tested.
Programmers will never stop saying "I didn't think of that." and 'Why would anybody do that?"

Wow, everyone seems to have completely misunderstood the question.

Yes, the version on MSDN is the final, RTM (Release to manufacturing) version. It is the same version that will be in stores on October 26th. But, it takes time for Microsoft to manufacture all these copies and creating DVD's and boxes and what not, and they need time to get all the distribution and what not done. That's why they don't release it to retail customers until October 26th.

Have no fear, the version on MSDN is the final version, and you can install and use it.

Mystere is probably correct. But what do you exactly mean by "'Release Candidate' or something like this."

Maybe it depends on what kind of account you have, I am not familiar with a students account, should there be one, but, currently, the MSDN download page does not specify any other than Windows 8, in all flavours. As Mystere says, this is the RTM.
