Hi all,

yesterday I moved to windows 8 and quite happy right now, fantastic performance and also noticed the the LAN performance improved dramatically (20 MB rate of file transfer) never been with this rates.

but 2 things concerne me know :

1. I am planning to replace my HDD to SSD in the next mounth, so I want to create a clean image and not to install all my programs again. I know it's recommended to do a clean install to the OS - I will do it , but i just don't want to install all the programs again(OFFICE,skype,etc...) any suggestions ?

2. Now I'm with the release preview edition and I'll want to purchase when it will come out , then I'll have to do another clean install ? or just upgrade ? also what are the expected prices ?

good day,

I plan on doing a clean install in a few months to a Western Digital 1TB Caviar Black hard drive. In my experience, it's always best to do a "full, clean" install of a new OS, no "in place upgrade" as that can introduce all kinds of hard-to-troubleshoot problems down the road... Just my .02...

I understand , I'm also thinking to do a clean install and put all the drivers, specially where I intend to replace to SSD which probably require other care. Just frustrated by the thought of installing again all the other programs again and again as i mentioned.

there any way to make an image of the installed programs ?

Hello Wuid, and welcome to Eight Forums.

I'm afraid not. Programs and drivers must be reinstalled. :(
