Should I migrate from Win 7 HE x64 to Win 8 RP 32 bit?

Should I migrate from Win 7 HE x64 to Win 8 RP 32 bit?

I have a dilemma here. Right now I'm using a HP notebook with Core i5 and 2gb DDR3 RAM. It is preinstalled with Win 7 HE 64 bit. I've used it for close to a year and just recently I've reformatted it and install a clean Win 7 HE 64bit without the bloatware from HP. I've saved some RAM resources by doing so.

Now my concern is, with only 2gb of RAM, and from what I've read on the net, some would say that it is preferable to use a 32bit Windows on a 2gb of RAM rather than x64. So now I am deciding whether or not to just use Win 7 until I get a newer laptop in the future or should I convert to Windows 8 32bit?

One more thing, my HD is of a dynamic drive so I can't do dual boot, which is my first plan. So what should I do?

Windows 8 RTM (Retinas taking damage...)

The best option is to add more ram. The only reason to use 32 bit these days(if you're not ruining ancient applications) is to save ram and HDD space, but ram is really, really cheap. You should be able to bump your laptop up to 8GB for under $50. If you really want 8, you should probably wait until the final release comes out.

No, there is no point in upgrading to the RP at this point. Instead, just download the 90 day Demo of the RTM and then you can add a real key when the final goes on sale.

I'd suggest using the 64 bit version if you have 2GB or more, since you might decide to add more RAM later, and x64 may have some performance improvements (probably minor, but take what you can get).

I have a policy of always maxing out my systems to the maximum amount of RAM the system will support and that has served me well. I personally don't run the 64bit version of any OS on less than 4GB of RAM. RAM upgrades are cheap and give good value for the $ spent, IMHO...

Leave your Windows 7 on that system until Windows 8 is available on Oct 26. Then you can get the $39.99 upgrade to Windows 8. To qualify for the $39.99 upgrade you need to have a licensed version of XP, Vista or Win 7 install on the PC you are upgrading. I would stay with 64bit.
