    Maybe I'm wrong but I think POP3 is much safer for e-mail than online mail services because it deletes the e-mail once downloaded (if configured so). You can also run a POP3 account which is under your control. It's also more reliable because you are not dependant on a web browser to get your e-mails.

    Unless the ISP/Provider helpfully makes a backup (as/before you download) just in case you request the restoration of an email that you accidentally deleted.

Hi there If Ms is really keen on promoting the cloud then I hope they get better response times than this I'm trying to upload a measly small 500MB file to a dropbox account --I have broadband speeds that unless you have fibre optic cable you'd die for - 40-80 Mbs. Yet to upload to Drop Box...
