Can you PreOrder Windows 8?

I was referring to using the Win8 DVD to do an upgrade not a clean install.

I'm assuming that the DVD that's purchased from Staples will be the upgrade DVD and not a full instillation DVD. The upgrade should work fine to upgrade his Win7. I think... hope... well that's what I'm doing.
    Ok. I understand now.

I will purchase a full edition of Enterprise and dual boot as I am now. I'd like to wait awhile until they get all the bugs worked out before using 8 as my main OS. Gun shy after Vista.

    Hi there
don't want to disappoint you but W8 Enterprise will not be available as a RETAIL edition. --- You'll have to "acquire it" by other methods.

    Cheers

I understand how you feel.. Vista was very bad. But the way I look at it.. I tested Win8 to death and I had zero issues.. So why not take the plunge.

I'm testing it too with very little minor glitches. One is when I'm using IE 10 "Modern" (not desktop). When I flip from another program back to a web page, the screen is page white and bare, no matter how long I wait. However, when I flip back and forth again (I use Alt/Tab a lot) it is filled. Strange. I thought it was my onboard video (rig's weakest resource) or driver, but it should populate the page shortly thereafter. Besides, the page has already loaded. Very minor issues. Too few to mention.

I run a business on my 7 side. I don't want to take any chances. I always try to ask myself what would be the biggest consequence of any deision I make. In this case, a crash. I'm not willing to take the risk quite yet. Too much to loose.

This PC is the only device I have, save my Droid X2. I do have plans to by the Surface Pro or some other hybrid with a touch screen on or shortly after October 26. Then I can afford to take the risk as long as I have a backup unit.

So if we upgrade on ms site it is a web based upgrade? Also there is really no way to do a clean install with upgrade media?

If you have a new pc that is valid for discounted upgrade to Windows 8 Pro, go to

    https://www.windowsupgradeoffer.com/

In the UK it is advertised at £14.99, although there are warnings about local taxes on the information and FAQ pages. If that is VAT - it could be as much as an additional £3.00.

Presumably it will be downloadable, with an additional charge for a DVD.
