Jon Honeyball - perhaps the most respected It jounalist in the UK has this to say:

This is the first release of Windows in 20 years that leaves me cold. On the touch side, it's too little, too late. On the desktop side, it's a car crash. To be blunt, I hope it bombs. Microsoft deserves a bloody nose for this, and the lessons learned should make it redouble and refocus for Windows 9.
He is? Then he should know it's not intended for enterprise. Please refer to posts here. Roughly post 1104 on, especially 1109.

Enterprise has nothing to do with it.

He reckons it is a car crash on the desktop.

He is not the only extremely knowledgeable person to think so - not by a very long way.

Desktop is actually not too bad on the desktop. It's more like a clunker grinding by than a car crash. Metro on the desktop, though, can only crash and burn.

I'm assuming you quoted an article of his. If so, could you please post the link to the article?

    LOL.

You seem to dismiss anything that does not agree with your point of view as irrelevant.

If you like it - that's great - it is you who will ne buying it and using it.

E.G the article from the other thread

might have been in the enterprise section - but he also linked to another article - from a user perspective.

Windows 8 Consumer Preview is more than a disappointment -- it creates a serious situation for Microsoft. I've been so loyal to Microsoft over the years that I regularly receive nasty comments from readers accusing me of being paid by Redmond. So when I'm unhappy and willing to say it, it's time for 'Softies to listen.

LOL. You seem to assume you know me and the way I think. I read for the facts. I don't pay too close attention to opinions, especially in the media.

I installed 8 and obtained the facts about it for my testing of use and enjoyment.

Back in the 60's Dragnet was a popular radio and TV crime drama here in USA. Perhaps you've heard of it. In it a character named Sergeant Joe Friday would be interviewing a witness who would usually go off on a tangent. His reply would always be "All we want are the facts, ma'am, just the facts". So I learned this principle at a fairly early age.

You quoted a portion an article. I asked kindly for the link to the article to see if there were any facts that the author may have presented to back up his degrading opinion and ill wishes towards MS. Instead you give me links to another author's articles with more opinions with no mention or link to Jon Honeyball that I can see. And most disappointing an assumption of me.

The fact of the whole matter is is that profit and money is what makes the world go around, not opinions. Any product will speak for itself in due time.

It is kind of annoying getting quotes without a source link, not because I doubt the accuracy, but because I usually want to read the rest of the article.
