    Winkey behavior on multiple monitors

AFAIK the Metro Start will stick to the last display that something metro was used. The problem is, I particularly hate it because I expect something to happen where my mouse is focused, even the WiFi panel appear on the screen that doesn't even have a taskbar.

Question is, can I change this?

Without 3rd party software, no. However, you can move the Start screen using Windows key + PgUp or PgDn to move it left or right (monitor-wise).

Nice move cluberti = winkey / PgUp / PgDn it works!
The focus is also affected by the screen identified as the primary

Sorry to hear that, these little details kill the experience. You said without third-party... and with?

I guess it depends on what you want to do - what is the specific scenario? The start screen and the apps that run with it run on one monitor currently, and you can't split the two.

Desktop on left > metro IE app on right
    Something like this ?

If you switch to the start screen on the desktop monitor it cancels the app on the 2nd monitor.
It's a bit awkward - almost any activity cancels the app on the second monitor.

I have two monitors. Some of my programs can take the whole screen, covering up everything including the task bar. In W7, I just used the MS clock gadget which I moved to the second screen so I could always see the time. Now in W8.1 Update, I can see all the apps that I've pined to the active...
Hi, I have a brand-new HDCP supporting monitor (native resolution 1920 x 1080,) on which I play the latest blu ray movies from the computers built-in blu ray drive, and a 9 year old flat screen non-HD plasma TV (on which I watch You Tube, BBC iPlayer and 4OD, streamed from the PC via a VGA...

Hi there I've been looking at some of the MATROX graphic cards for multi-monitor output -- up to 8 possible !! Now any decent software to run these -- the standard software seems OK at running TWO monitors but I want to be able to run several more. You can run more but it gets a bit complicated...
Hi all, I was wondering, is there a way to enable full-screen magnification on one screen and disable it on the other? I'm low visioned and I need full screen (not lens/docked) magnification to work for school. My brother should be able to watch series on the second screen (HDMI) without...
Currently, I run Windows 7 Pro on dual 24" monitors, and life is good. :):) In Win 8, if I open the desktop tile, I presume that the default action is to open the full-screen desktop app on just 1 of the 2 monitors. I'm guessing that the "Start" screen remains on the 2nd monitor. Can I have...
