If someone can figure a way to bypass WinRT that is written into the Operating System,
good for them and good for you.
I hope you can get 8 with metro gone.
I am not convinced it is possible.
Maybe disabled ? I do not know.

I find some of the pinning and unpinning features quite useful.
A proper desktop is designed by the user for the user.
Sounds like the Declaration of Independence.

I have read some of your posts here I may not agree that metro is that efficient or even necessary but I have to say I respect your enthusiasm that can't be curbed. Although be careful how much you get attached to it, it may be the feature down the road to get zuned

    thanks...
I do not wish to depart from the thread title,
    but let me add this,
    unfortunately for some,
the classic desktop with a Microsoft Start Orb is not coming back.
(only brilliant developers will add enhancements to the product)

There are literally thousands of online technical analysis
relating to the future of Windows.
    The entire codebase is evolving.
    WinRT is just the beginning.

I just happen to like it because it is effective on my fine quad-core.
And it is different from the 17 years of ORB or Start since w95.
I totally find Linux to be an improper desktop.
    Very user unfriendly.
It's like that genius kid (Sheldon) on the Big Bang Theory.
His favorite Operating System is Linux.
    What a surprise!
    Apple is too expensive.
And I do need the ALL APPS area.
Funny, there is no start menu, ha, ha, ha...
