It's no problem Jeff. Were you able to get it back to how you wanted?

no Shawn, whatever I try it is not what it was.

In Oulook I let every mail get in the folder meant for this mail. So having more then 100 folders. This way I do not have to drag the mail to the right folder, BUT since there is no notification on the taskbar for new mails anymore and when I returnack and no notification is there, I need to check if there are new mails, without always finding one. I have to open every folder that has subfolders in it. Because if there are new mails with notification, then I know I must find at least one.

Too bad the first mail still has to be dragged to the right folder for that conversation.

But this will probably be back ok oct 26th....I guess.

Are you getting the sound notifcations after setting them as posted earlier?

If you have not already, check in Outlook under these option settings to see if they may help with email notifications. This is for Outlook 2010, so it may vary a bit if you have a different version.

File -> Options -> Mail - under "Message arrival"

well, no I did not do this, but will try it out. The sound is not convenient, since a warning pops up in the right upper corner, which is nice when you are behind your pc, as with the sound. But what is you come in after - no mather what time -, then nor the notification I get or the sound mather then.

    But thanks

    Shawn,

as for the sound notification, is was marked on, but no sound is heard.

Just found out that if I create a rule then all messages from a specific person gets in the right folder. Did not know that.

Anyway if MS would remove the changes for the notification that went wrong, I would be very happy

Just to double check, but did you set a sound for both mail notification items here in Sounds? By default, the desktop one doesn't have a sound set to it.

Just to double check again, but did you set Outlook "Message arrival" options from above as well for notifications and how long to display it for? It normally displays right above the taskbar's notification area icons.

Click image for larger versionyes Brink,

no, I do not have that option in Outlook 2013. Included my prtscrn.

The notification comes in the right upper corner, which is nice when you are there, but no use if you are away for a certain time
