"Automatically go to the Desktop" feature available in Windows 8 RTM!

Microsoft has added "Automatically go to the Desktop" feature in Windows 8 RTM. So those who wish to avoid Metro screen at start can directly to to their desktops!

If that were coupled with a "Enable the start menu" and "disable the charms bar" then we would be talking awesome!

Now only if it were coupled with "enable aero glass" and "enable desktop gadgets".

I can tell it's a serious blog by statements like:
Windows 8 is incredibly stable and fast, it’s far better than Windows 7 in all ways

This actually is what You call a Major change. The Address bar looks more white and clutter free.

    *****

What contributes to the hilarity of the first statement quoted, the major conclusion of the article, is that everything else on the page concerns cosmetic changes.

That would be too convenient but unfortunately they have purposefully ruined this Op system for use on a desktop.

At least we have the option of booting to the desktop again but I'm wondering what this means.

Would you like to automatically go to the desktop when you log into this computer?

Then it says,... You can alter this by right clicking the start button. What start button are they referring too?

Probably referring to the win-x hot corner. Either that, or they added the start button back[unlikely].

I think this blog post may be BS. I cannot imagine someone reputable that has access to the RTM wouldnt have leaked this already. Hope I am wrong though as I would love Win 8 to have default option to bypass Metro and re-add a start button without third party tools.

It is misinformation. You know how rumours start.

It originally comes from this post http://www.winsupersite.com/article/...-start8-143772

    It refers to Stardock's Start8.

It was referred to here: [NEWS] Windows 8 Pre-RTM and it's Metro UI - Page 19

Looks like they updated it to include this statement.

UPDATE : Start button referred here is the Hot corner in the left bottom of Windows 8 Screen. Note that this is a screen-shot from a build that is not the final one and the language will probably change to make it clear.

Although I'm having a hard time believing that the entire article isn't true because of this part.

New screenshots have appeared of the Windows 8 RTM branch, courtesy of WinUnleaked, that reveal some last-minute changes and additions made by the Windows team.

I guess we will have to wait and see what the actual truth is.

The screenshot was there at the link I posted first. It seems they have removed it. Anyway I have found the screenshot and I am posting it for your view.
