Solved Synchronisation problem with clock in Windows 8

Greetings,

I currently have a problem with my clock in Windows 8. Now time is 16:17 (as on time.is) but on Windows 8 my clock shows 15:17.

Meridian is that of Paris which is fine because I live in France.

I can change my clock by adding an hour. But in that case, the change will be undone (canceled) when I log to Linux Elementary and the clock will again be one hour too early. I would like to keep Linux Elementary because I consider it to be fine for some uses like the Internet or mail reading; Windows is rather for gaming or for Office.

If I click left on the date on the bottom right of the screen, then on "Change date and hour settings", then on "Internet time", I see that:
- this computer is set to be automatically synchronised with time.windows.com
- this computer is set to be automatically synchronised on a planned manner

I don't know if these informations can help.

Thank you to anyone trying to help me.

If you live in France your "Time Zone" should be set to "UTC+01:00 Brussels, Copenhagen, Madrid, Paris". If your Time Zone is set to anything west of this zone, like the UK, then it will show 1 hour behind your time in France.

My time zone is already set to "UTC+01:00 Brussels, Copenhagen, Madrid, Paris".

That's why I don't understand what's possibly wrong.

Instead of the "Internet Time" tab look at the "Additional Clocks" tab. It may be that "Show this clock" has been ticked and another time zone clock selected. See picture: -

Solved

@wiganken
As suggested in your link, I changed the Internet Time to synchronize with "time.nist.gov" instead of "time.windows.com".

It has worked well so far. All I can say is, when I load Linux and then Windows, the time is again one hour too early during a few minutes, then Windows makes the automatic synchronization and the time is then OK. I just mean, it can take a few minutes to work.

Solved & thank you for your help.

Glad it worked. The issue with Linux is a well known one. If you search the internet you will find others have the same problem. I don't think there is a solution yet. If you can do without Linux then don't use it.
