I have Windows 8.1. When I am doing search, Windows start searching as soon as I type the first character and if I type fast, search crashes and closes. Did somebody experience the same thing.

Is there is any way to force Windows not to do any search until typing is finished?

Are you talking about searching in File Explorer or in your web browser? If it is in File Explorer then try typing slower. If it is in your web browser then it may be a browser issue so try using a different web browser. If it is a problem in both of them then it may be that you have a slow computer so type slower to allow your computer to 'keep up' with your typing.

It's Windows Explorer. My question was whether it was possible to make system not do any search until typing is finished. I see no sense in the system starting search while I haven't finished my typing. In any case, why should system crash if I type fast?

"inline AutoComplete" may be switched ON. You could try turning it OFF. Go to Control Panel then "Network & Sharing Center". At bottom left of window you should see "Internet Options". Open this and select the "Advanced" tab. In the list shown untick "Use inline AutoComplete in File Explorer & Run dialogue". This is already unticked on my PC so maybe it is already unticked on your PC. If so then this advice does not apply. Sorry.
