My laptop came with Windows 8 installed. It will no longer boot up. I've looked into buying a recovery/boot disk but I don't have a product key. I have a windows 8 sticker on the laptop but nothing with a product key. What can I do

You can download Windows 8.1 from here. Windows 8.1 now accepts Windows 8 Keys. When you are installing Windows, it will automatically read the key in the BIOS and install Home or Pro, whatever one came with your laptop. It will also automatically activate. The trick is you have to install the same version of Windows that came with your laptop. If your laptop came with Windows 8 Home, you have to download and install Windows 8.1 Home. If you download Windows 8.1 Home N, Windows 8.1 Home K, or Windows 8.1 Single Language, it will not activate. It must match your original version.

Download Windows 8.1 Disc Image (ISO File)

[Edit]
If you do not know the version of Windows that came with your laptop and your computer will not boot, download Kyhi’s Bootable Rescue Disk. Extract it to a bootable flash drive or burn it to a dvd and boot from it. It is like a live version of Windows. No files are written to your hard drive. There is a program on his disk called ShowKeyPlus. Run ShowKeyPlus and it will tell you what version came with your laptop.
