Solved Recent places, recent items jump list self-depopulate

As the title states, my recent functionality is borked in 8.1. My recent places or recent items will go from being blank to containing a few items and then !poof! they're gone. Not sure what triggers the spontaneous purge but I'd like to fix it.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Found it

inSSIDer Home, a wi-fi monitor/troubleshooter, is the culprit. When I fire it up it wipes my history. Weird.
