hi,
I am getting folders (often named MS******.tmp) being created at random on drives (that I really don't want them on) and I want to prevent the folders from being created because its an inappropriate and inconvenient for them to be created on these drives, how would I go about preventing them from being created?
thanks

[edit: by denying access to the root folder of the drive, these folders are not created anymore]

Have you got any anti virus? It looks like your system is infected and you should scan the whole system.

nope, checked it with malwarebytes but no infections. I believe its something to do with microsoft, since the folders do begin with MS

PS if internet connection fails after the installation of malwarebytes, look for 'web protection' and switch it off, there's no other fix
