I refreshed my windows 8.1 lost all my updates

I refreshed windows 8.1 and lost all my updates now I am back to windows 8 and don't have the windows refresh or reset options any more on my windows 8 laptop. Is this common or an issue that may be fixed? Thank you in advance for any ones help.

Welcome to the forum. How did you refresh it using makers refresh back to how it came on day 1 or other. You may have to get loads of updates and then you should get the 8.1 update

I refreshed my windows 8.1 through settings then change pc settings not makers (by the way is makers a new program)? I did not realize I would loose all my updates and go from 8.1 back to 8 Thank you again for your input and advice.

By "Makers" samurai was asking if You'd done it by using the "Factory Restore" which is the only possible way for it to have rolled back from 8.1 to 8.0.

Your best option now would be to download the last Win 8.1 ISO from Microsoft Access Denied to Your desktop. Mount it then run setup as Admin. Keep the Factory Bloatware if You wish, or Keep Nothing. Then You Still will have a LOT of updates to bring it up to date. Skip the updates below if You want to avoid the Telemetry

I refreshed my windows 8.1 and my computer went back from 8.1 to windows 8 all my files and favorites in IE are still there but lost all my other browsers like chrome and fire fox. I did not do a reset to factory settings .Thanks to all that have replied and given there input greatly appreciated.
