Hi all,

I need to perform a factory reset of my Windows 8.1 laptop, but have been blocked by the message "could not find recovery environment".

I have scrolled through this old thread but none of the suggestions worked: https://www.eightforums.com/install...-find-recovery-environment-22.html#post546163

I've tried to do the whole diskpart fix (image attached shows my partitions) but again, no luck.

Then tried the reagentc / (below) but didn't work either.

Really unsure as to what to try next. I've also tried to perform the reset in safe mode, but the troubleshoot option isn't available for me.

Any help would be massively appreciated.

We could do with a screen shot from diskmanger or simliar you seem to have lots of paritions makred as recovery. It will normally work if you set the recovery parition to active and reboot I would assume parition 8 is the one as its the largest its a simple fix and if it doesnt work simple to set the original one as active to undo changes
