File History, makes backing up files that much easier than 7.

I'm tempted to say the Shut-Down button......

    But I won't.

Actually, I'd have to say the new Task Manager, the new file-copier, the explorer
ribbon (I wouldn't if you couldn't minimise it) and native ISO mounting.

I like windows updates giving you 2 days to restart your computer, before it does:

Improved Dism.exe that has all the capabilities of Imagex.exe, without the long download.

    Automounting of VHD images

Explorer search ribbon, bringing back advanced GUI search options missing since XP

No more SVCHOST NETWORK CPU logjams!

    Hi there
have to agree with pparks1 here

although if I had to choose 1 feature it would be the ISO virtual mount facility.

Note that this also works in Windows 2012 server -- also the BACKUP actually works and obviates need for 3rd party stuff --you (like most things apart from the basic features) have to enable it manually via the Manager your server application.

Annoying Windows 8 Feature in General Support
There is a Windows 8 feature that drives me nuts. I've noticed that when I'm in desktop mode and I have certain other apps running, those apps will show up as thumbnails when I hover over the top left-hand corner of the screen. The really annoying part is that when I brush my finger a certain way...
