Computer restarts after "Hibernate."

My system will not shut down properly in Win 8.1. It was that way in Win 8 as well. Nothing would fix the problem so I just used "Hibernate" instead of "Shutdown," and things seemed to work find for a couple of years! But now the computer has begun to restart by itself, hours later, in the middle of the night! Is there a fix for this?

If there is no way to get the computer to stay "off" after I turn it off, do you think I can insert an on/off switch between the computer and the wall outlet? I thought the computer was really OFF, after I choose "Hibernate." So I was hoping that the switch would just prevent an auto-restart. I really don't know much about this.

Any help will be very much appreciated. :)

Thanx... :)

Ask for more clarification of what I am going to say, so you dont accidentally erase everything on your computer:

1) Put in your Windows 8 Installation Disk
2) There is an option that attempts to repair your computer WITHOUT deleting anything, select that option.
3) Wait for the fix. After done, load your computer up again, and try Shut Down.

Other 'Ghetto' Method:
1) In the back of your computer, where the power outlet goes into, there should be an On/Off switch on the computer itself.
2) If not, buy an power strip (search online for "power strip" and select the Images option to see pictures of what these are, if you're not aware of what that is... but I'm sure you know what those are). They have an On/Off switch on them.

3) (Lol, "Power Strip" sounds like a pretty hot thing that the girls do at a strip club)
