Windows Media Player hangs during startup

My laptop is running windows 8.1 (64-bit) which *is up to date. When I start my Windows Media Player,it always shows "updating library" regardless of the fact whether I've added any new music or not to*my laptop. During that process *it hangs like hell. I cannot do anything in*it. This remains for 2 minutes or so. After that, the player works perfectly. What should I do to fix this error?*

I always run CCleaner software to clean up unnecessary temporary files before shutting down my laptop at night.*

What should I do*to fix this trouble?*

    1) After Windows Media Player loads, see if you can temporarily disable it from seeing your physical library on the computer... just be sure not to let it delete your physical files on the computer
    2) Close the program and open it
    3) Re-add your folders to the library
    4) Close the program and open it again. What happen?

Hello, I don't have Windows Media Player installed, so I'm not sure exactly what steps to take, yet I found a thread talking about how to disable it. It should be exactly like those steps, or something very similar:

From WMP, click Organize>Manage Libraries and go on your way from there. You can manage what is added to your library there.

It happened for a while and I couldn't find a fix, basically sometimes my laptop just hangs when I just got into desktop, attempted to shut down or restarted or when I attempted to use it after being left idle for a while. I'm not sure what's exactly the problem but sometimes Windows 8.1 hangs at the Windows logo at boot with Fast Startup enabled on a mSATA SSD with my Lenovo Y570 laptop. My laptop does not support Secure Boot/GPT or UEFI, so I'm really unsure if that's the problem. Once I disable Fast Startup...
So for some background I basically stream music, pictures and video content from my computer to an Xbox 360 in the lounge room for my family to enjoy. This has worked for quite a long time with Windows 7. I installed Windows 8 Consumer Preview today and got settled in with it and indexed my...
Hello, I'm trying to help my elderly mother with her email access and it's a while since I've used Windows myself so I'd appreciate any hints.
