Win8: Explorer Ribbon "selected file extension"

    Hello,

I have one major annoyance I cannot cope with in the win8 explorer.

When you select a file in the explorer you get a "file sensitive" extension in the ribbon menu (the green application tools in the picture).

Is there a way to disable this file sensitive" extension? it so annoying, because when you work a lot in the explorer with files the GUI constantly changes (color an the posotion of the name from the window).I get all kinds of different coloured menus which distract me big time.

Maybe there i a win8 feedback forum which I can address this problem? I'm really not unhappy with win8, but there a some really annoying things in it for me.

damn microsoft. I don't find the metro start-menü replacement bad I I like the minimalistic approach, but the whole thing looks just cheap. what to do... change to the hated mac os world? Linux is no alternative due the lack of important commercial software (Im a web developer)

    Windows VM on Linux?

You could run a Windows VM on Linux.

You can run VMware Workstation in Ubuntu (so presumably other Linux distros too).
I only use Ubuntu occasionally, but I haven't had any problems running Windows 7 & XP (on Ubuntu) using it.

My XP VM runs all of my old games (except one).
My W7 VM runs Office 2007, Project 2010 and other software (that I've tried) without complaints.

I would wait until the RTM of Windows 8, as that will introduce the FINAL, GUI of the Desktop and Explorer. It will look more like Office 2013 when that happens, it's less color change and more just colored text and a colored line above it. Basically, what you see there isn't what it will be in the end.
