Anyone using Windows 8 as Primary OS?

I've tried the Windows 8 Release Preview a while back, but I removed it. The only thing that I find good about Windows 8 is the fact that it boots faster and uses a bit less memory that Windows 7. The whole Metro UI thing is something that just doesn't call my attention but it doesn't mean I won't use it. Would be nice if the good old start menu can be hacked into Windows 8 but I heard Microsoft removed the ability to do that.

I am. It's been pretty buggy so far, to the point where I can't run the installation for the Release Preview.

I'm using Win 8 with Media Centre on every PC on my home network and I love it.

Since putting it on my ultra book, I haven't picked up my iPad once. Can't wait for the tablet PCs to come out.

Only trouble is a bit of over scan over HDMI, but bearable until I find a fix - probably a hardware change a it's an ATX problem.

    well, I don't get it.

Using Win8 since last year October and do not understand anyone installing Consumer or Developer P at this time.

The Release P version did not give me any problem worth mentioning.

For those NOT liking Metro, you can avoid to use "Maps", "Music", "IE", etc.

I removed all this from the Metro, pinned IE, Chrome (default starting page is Google Maps), Windows Media Player in order to use only half of the screen. Dido for my camera.

Many of the users here use Win8 as there primary machine.

So I am happy with this. But liking Win8 is strictly personal.

Yea im a software consultant and I've take the leap with win 8. My main laptop still has xp but I got a Samsung slate with windows 7 and almost instantly moved to win 8 Rp.
Occasional freeze and restarts when using chrome. Otherwise it's just fine. Minor driver issues. It's my main work pc right now.
No embarrassing moments in front of my clients yet. Lol
Can't wait for the big release.

    Windows 8 Enterprise 64-bit (7 Ult, Vista & XP in V-Box)

The 32-bit CP is still rockin' along just fine on the AS5735.

Been running since March, and hasn't missed a beat so far.

It was an upgrade over a 3-year-old Win 7 Ultimate installation (OS and
programs only, my files & data are on another drive), the only issue I
had was that SIW didn't work.

    Must have done something wrong......

There is a version of SIW for Win8, 64 bit only at the moment.

Buy SIW Pro or Download SIW Home Edition

    SIV is a great utility

    Thanks for that, SIW2.

I ended up throwing a copy of SANDRA onto it......
