My laptop has been randomly freezing when browsing the internet (with Chrome or Firefox) or Windows Explorer.
It's not a total freeze, as if I place the cursor within half an inch of the vertical scroll bar I'm able to scroll the page. However I can't do much else other than use keystrokes to reboot.
This started about 5-6 months ago, after the machine was 4 months old.
I've tried various suggestions such as disabling Background Intelligent Transfer Service and disabling "Use hardware acceleration when available in Firefox" but the random freezing still occurs. It can happen after 2 minutes or after an hour.
Laptop is an Lenovo i3-40005U; 4GB RAM; Intel Graphics card; running pre-installed Windows 8.1.
All drivers are up to date.
Grateful for any help.
Thanks in advance
