Hey guys, I meant to say my Cpu ran a few degrees hotter than it normally does on Windows 8. On Windows 8 my idle temps were between 55-60c.On Windows 7 at an idle it runs upper 40's to low 50'sc.Also on 3DMark 11 my physics(Cpu) scores at stock clocks on W7 were 9000-9400. On W8 I score 8500-9000.These AMD WDDM drivers suck. I hope when it goes to RTM I'll be able to use my current display drivers.

    LOL.

The poll results have changed since it was announced so cheap.

Indicates some will get if it's cheap - they wouldn't bother if it wasn't.

    Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

Reminds me of the Monty python sketch something like this ( fabricated the character names)

Edna: What have you bought there Doris?

    Doris: A spitfire engine.

Edna: A spitfire engine ? What on earth for?

    Doris: It was cheap.

There must be a vid of that sketch somewhere.

Ehhh. May not upgrade, as I have had to reinstall the 8 RP twice. If the retail version isn't more stable, then no.

I'd like to say yes right now for I like the metro screen for live tile info, organization, and lQQks. Also, if I can upgrade for forecasted Shibe price of $39.99. It also runs very well on my machine with a couple of minor glitches that aren't worth mentioning. I haven't installed all my programs yet, but what I have installed run well.

However, they need more and better quality apps. i.e. the Mail app, although works well, in no way is better than WM. I tweaked WM in, but one shouldn't have to. The news apps suck. There just doesn't seem to be a lot of options in them either. Also, although the forecasted price is low, how much will apps cost? And for that quality?

How about a live clock or world clock tile? I have to key WinKey/c to see the clock in Metro start screen, Metro IE, or any Metro app.

Then there's the desktop. Not exactly the same personalization as 7. i.e. I can't seem to find the Bing desktop personalization install as I like for 8. Not exactly a big thing, but that's what I desire.

I'm going to have to take a lQQk and see attitude here.

    Thanks for starting the survey.

One hopes the final RTM version is more stable. I've also had to reinstall the RP once so far.

Yeah, the Mail app doesn't cut it for me anymore. I've been using it since I installed the Release Preview since I wanted to kick around the tires and it was much better then the CP's. But, it's glitchy. I'm trying to get Outlook 2010 to work but I have issues with that and I'm gladly going to wait for the Office 2013 beta. The news app is ok, I much prefer USA Today's app, it needs a touch of refinements but it's literally the best metro styled news app I've come across so far. And I would bet a LOT of the apps will be free, price tags will come later from now.

Thankfully there are developers building apps for Windows 8, so there might be that world clock!

Oh, the Bing Desktop was a Windows update for 7, but if you Bing Bing Desktop, I'm sure you can get that to install in 8.

it's a maybe from me, i absolutely love the core of win 8 it's so well done, the metro ui i can live with as well not a big fan of it but it's not the end of the world.

what will sell it for me is a device called leap motionLeap Motion, if that works as it should i won't need to fork out silly money for a touch screen and instead use that across all my screens that i already own.

if that works as advertised on release then i'll get windows 8 if not then i really don't see a reason to upgrade at this time.

    Interesting.

Like the way they call it Reach.

Looks fun - good for those shooting games.

But the problem is in the name.

How long can you keep reaching before your delts tire?

Nice product, better than having to touch your screen.

You could say it's a leap back from a touch screen.
