    Strange question.

Upgrade implies replacing what you have with something better.

"Will you change to win8" makes more sense.

If you mean replace the existing o/s with win8 - the answer is no.

    Not on a desktop/laptop.

Will I use a win8 tablet - completely different question.

    I might.

    I will upgrade to Win8.
Have been using Win8 most of the last couple months and use the desktop 99% of the time.
The start screen is fine for me when needed, which isn't very often. After setting it up to my preference it's actually easy to use.

I hope they give the no-see metro option many are requesting but, it won't change my decision.

Maybe if or when I'm in the market for a tablet then I'll look at Win8.

For my current desktop and laptop setup there are simply not enough (if any) real world benefits for me to change. If there was a Classic UI choice at time of installation I would certainly look closer but for now as things stand it's a definite no.

I absolutely love Windows 8.When it first came out I tried it out and hated it.Now I have it as my sole OS and found once you get to know your way around it's grows on you. Yeah I know so does a fungus. I have an SSD and I used to boot W7 in 14 sec. Now it's down to 10.

That would save me about 8 sec per month. If that's Windows HE's most notable feature, Microsoft is in real trouble. How about resuming from sleep? Although my boot drive is an SSD, Windows 7 apparently waits for my hard drive data drives to spin up, and it takes about 10 sec for the system to be available after resuming from sleep. The screen usually refreshes immediately, and I can often type a few characters of password on the logon screen, but the system never fully wake ups before those 10 sec elapse, which corresponds to hard drive spin-up time. An improvement there would be truly notable.

Why, after months of trying it W7 is just better still. No "upgrade" here.

    Windows 8 Enterprise 64-bit (7 Ult, Vista & XP in V-Box)

On this system?..........No. Not gonna happen. Not yet, anyway.

I'd like to go from Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit to
Ultimate 64-bit, but that's about it.

But the other lappy (AS5735) is running the 32-bit CP quite
happily, so it can remain there till it times out.

And one of the desktop's hard drives has the 32-bit DP on it.

    After that.....well, we'll see.

I like dual booting W7 and W8RP. Time will tell if I keep W7

Heard a lot of nasty stories re dual-booting.

I'm d/ling the 64-bit RP at present (slowly, on an 8gb/month allowance!!) so
    will have it soonish.

Then, it will be going into VirtualBox, on this machine.

The other two machines can remain standalones (one with the DP, one with the CP).

But this, my main machine, will remain Win 7 for the foreseeable future.
