Unable to open, rename or delete a folder

Yesterday I encountered a weird situation. We all know the 256 character Windows limitation, and I always was able to override this issue by renaming the file or folder. This time I had this folder with more than 256 characters, and Windows was unable to open, rename or delete it, in all cases it displayed the "too long..." message. I was finally able to resolve the issue using Winrar to rar and then extract the folder's content and later with a 3rd party tool (XYplorer) which gave me the option to permanently delete it. I was wondering if there is any command or way to deal with this same situation using only Windows' tools. Thanks

You then should be able to open that folder and delete anything inside it..

If you wanted to delete the folder itself, you would have to share the upper level folder .. say you wanted to delete "c:\users\picture"

You'll probably have to share the "C:\users" folder in the manner above..

Hope it makes sense.. Using the "share folder/file" setting like this forces you be able to handle past that 256 character limit..
