Need English back: Win 8.1 computer currently in Chinese

A couple of years ago I installed the Chinese language pack for visiting relatives and as I can't read Chinese they turned the Sony Viao (Win 8.1) back to English upon their departure. I think I was resetting the time (who knows?) and now everything is back to Chinese making it impossible to navigate. I have to guess at everything and as yet have been unable to get back to the page where one changes the language. Even if I could figure it out, it would still be in Chinese. Grrrr!

I've been searching for weeks looking for screen shots to no avail. Any idea on how to retrace my steps and undo my foolishness? Comments, suggestions, and advise greatly appreciated. Snide comments as to my stupidity should be restricted. My wife has already hidden the ax.

Happy New Year one and all...

Do you have System Restore turned on? Maybe try to do a system restore with a Windows 8.1 system repair disk. You would boot from the repair disk and do the system restore from there. Of course you would pick a restore point before it went back to Chinese. If you Google or YouTube "Windows 8.1 system repair disk" you will find tons of tutorials on how to make one. Once you have it made, here is a link on how to do the system restore with the repair disk.

How to Start System Restore When You Can No Longer Log Into Windows

i noticed in your post you said you been searching for weeks. The longer it been since it when back to Chinese the less likely System Restore will work. I guess it's worth a try.
